A ceremony conducted for granting certificates to the course participants.

On October 31, Chamchamal Community Center held a ceremony for completing a long-term English course. Certificate of participation was granted to 14 refugee, IDP and host community students. In presence of representative of UNHCR, representatives of Charmo University and Chamchamal District, director of Chmachmal directorate of Culture and Art, directors of Chamchamal Children Culture House and Shorsh Youth Center.

Previously Chamchmal Community Center which is a project implemented by Civil Development Organization-CDO in partnership with UNHCR in cooperation with Charmo University held a long-term English course which lasted for 3 months.

on October 30, Pamela Husain UNFPA Senior Programme Manager in Iraq visited Ashti and Arbat Camps, in order to further follow up and be aware of the activities of Gender-Based Violence Survivors Support Project.

Pamela with the staffs of Sulaymaniyah UNFPA Office and Civil Development Organization-CDO staffs of Gender-Based Violence Survivors Support Project visited Women Social Service at Ashti IDP camp and both Reproductive Health Centers of Ashti and Arbat Camps and met the women who live in the camps to gain information through direct conversation with them.

​Arbat Community Center conducted 2 profession training courses including Television and Mobile Phone repairing, in order to support refugees and help them obtain their own occupation and financial resources. The training courses were delivered by experienced trainers such as Samsung Company technician manager and a 15-year-experienced trainer.

10 individuals were benefited from the courses and each course lasted for 36 hours. Arbat Community Center is a project implemented by Civil Development Organization-CDO in partnership with UNHCR.

A Series of Health Awareness Seminars Conducted for Refugees

​Community Center which is a project implemented by Civil Development Organization – CDO in partnership with UNHCR conducted a series of seminars for non-Syrian refugee women and girls.

The seminars were delivered by expert doctors about raising healthcare awareness such as the importance of breastfeeding, vaccination, ovarian cyst, breast cancer and its prevention.

The seminars were attended by 123 refugee women and girls from Sulaymaniyah, Kalar, Sherawan, Chwarqurna, Qaladiza, Nasr and Barika.

​Civil Development Organization-CDO was one of the sponsors of the first Surna Music Festival in Sulaymaniyah.

On October 25 and 26 in order to keep the Kurdish folklore music and songs alive, Nwegar Organization in cooperation with the General Directorate of Culture and Art in Sulaymaniyah, CDO and Kurdsat Broadcasting Corporation organized the festival at Talari Hunar (Art Palace), with the participation of a number of well-known artists and 13 music bands from different regions of the Kurdistan Region.
