On 10 March, Civil Development Organization-CDO held a seminar for children of Bamo sub-district, about dental prevention awareness which was presented by specialist dentist.
They also distributed 109 toothbrush and toothpaste to the children.
CDO is planning to hold similar seminars for school children in most of the districts and sub-districts of Sulaymaniyah and Halabja.
On March 8, Gender-Based Violence Sub Working Group GBVSWG and Civil Development Organization-CDO held an event in cooperation with UNFPA and Family Mall, on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Family Mall-Sulaymaniyah.
15 women and men were awarded for their active efforts in community development, Gender Cases and combating gender inequality.
A number of activities were held in the event including performing songs and music by Kizhan of Lur Group also 40 Kazi Group from Duhok City attended the event and Layzin Group performed two dances.
Giving awareness and medical checkup for attended women by International Federation of Medical Students Associations-IFMSA, presenting 8 of March ribbons and dying hands by Henna were also parts of the activities.
On March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day Civil Development Organization-CDO, Kurdistan Naz Volunteers and Nwegar Organization held “Women of Kurdistan Festival” by supporting Kurdsat Broadcasting Corporation in cooperation with Sulaymaniyah Directorate of Culture. Concert of Kurdish Singer “Hani” was also a part of the festival.
The festival revenue donates to orphaned children.
On February 28, Civil Development Organization-CDO in cooperation with Halabja Human Right Office and Halabja Handicaps Organization distributed 80 winter clothing packages to disabled children.
CDO has annual plans according to specific scales and try to assist all the classes that need assistance. In a near future CDO is planning to provide assistance to children of Bamo sub-district.
CDO is one of The Sponsors of “Impossible” Project
On February 20 “Impossible” project was held at Ramada Hotel-Sulaymaniyah, which is a fashion show for people with special needs.
The idea of the project and designing the clothes were by Sardonia Ahmad and Hemn Hadi.
35 models with special needs participated in the fashion show. Civil Development Organization always continues to support people with special needs in the society and was one of the main sponsors of the project.
At the end of the show general director of CDO was granted appreciation award for supporting the project.
Representative of Ministry of Education in Sulaymaniyah appreciated Civil Development Organization to their efforts in providing care and assistance to IDP students in Garmyan.
