CDO Supports Small Projects

Chamchamal Community Center which is a project implemented by Civil Development Organization- CDO in partnership with UNHCR, opened beauty salon training for 14 refugees, IDPs and host community women.

On December 9, Chamchamal Community Center provided salon equipment to the participants of the training in order to support them start their own small business and obtain financial resources. In a near future the participants will start their own business.

Civil Development Organization-CDO in partnership with UNFPA conducted two activities for 16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence with Zhima Organization for Sport Development and Sulaymaniyah Taekwondo Club at Majdi Mall and Family Mall in Sulaymaniyah, in order to show the skills of women and girls and support self-confidence and self-defense in individuals.

CDO Celebrates International Volunteer Day

On December 5 the International Volunteer Day, The Community Center of Civil Development Organization-CDO in partnership with UNHCR held an event at CDO Conference Hall, in presence of representatives of UNHCR and the Community centers of Sulaymaniyah, Arbat, Chamchamal, Piramagrun and Kalar.

Gift of appreciation and thankfulness was given to 76 volunteers who are currently working for CDO to respect their efforts.

Then representative of UNHCR gave a speech and highly appreciated the volunteers and encouraged them to step forward. Music playing by Ronda Music Group was also a part of the event.

CDO Provides Supplies for Bokan Football Team

On December 3, The Community Center team visited the Iranian Refugee Camp in Sulaymaniyah and provided supplies to Bokan Football Team, in order to support young refugees, provide their needs and also to promote sport section. The items contained sport clothing sets, 12 sport trainers and socks, ball and goalkeeper gloves. The Community Center is a project implemented by CDO in partnership with UNHCR.
